In contrast to convential thermal response tests (e.g. as defined in the german VDI 4640-5), performed on one borehole at precisely defined conditions, the in-situ-system-TRT aims to test and evaluate the performance of the entire geothermal system using a model-based analysis method.
- Considered system elements geothermal heat exchanger (borehole heat exchanger), connection and distribution pipes up to the heat pump (either in- or excluding the heat pump itself)
- Comminssioning measurement of the completed plant as a concept for quality control and proof of function during acceptance
- Advantages: Quality certificate of the entire geothermal system for the system manufacturer and the client or the subsequent system operator; Proof of proper function of the thermal source/sink in accordance with design criteria
