The main functional extensions of the existing model library include both a functional and a spatial coupling of both similar and different shallow geothermal source systems. This flexibilisation of the (choice of) source systems and their model-consistent combinability across several planning phases contributes to increasing application possibilities of shallow geothermal energy. This is achieved through the following extensions:
- Coupling of different source systems such as borehole heat exchangers, ground heat collector, energy piles etc.
- Spatial interaction within one plant
- Spatial interaction with other neighbouring systems
- Algorithmic optimisation in the selection of the system combination
- Consideration of all significant design-relevant effects, such as groundwater advection for borehole heat exchangers or phase change in the case of ground heat collectors
- Implementation of a potential optimisation regarding the largest specific energy input
- Sensitivity analysis of the uncertain and varying input variables
